Innovation Day - Artikel Berkaitan

Sistem pembelajaran di Malaysia dan di negara luar memang banyak berbeza. Masih terbayang-bayang keseronokkan Innovation Show tempoh hari, hari ini terbaca pula artikel tentang Innovation Day di blog friEdTechnology. Memahami sistem pendidikan di barat lebih maju; hari inovasi mereka dijalankan secara kerap dan memberi kebebasan sepenuhnya kepada pelajar untuk menentukan apa yang mahu dan perlu mereka pelajari tanpa perlu terikat dengan silibus.

Today we held our first Innovation Day in Huntsville ISD. I figured it was going to be pretty cool, but I had no idea how cool. In the first 10 minutes I was on the campus of Samuel Walker Houston Elementary I watched a student dredge chicken for frying, saw 5 girls sewing clothing, helped three boys create a new website, and heard students everywhere talking excitedly about their self-created projects. It was AMAZING. During free-write time yesterday, Mrs. Jessica Moore's student Jenna wrote the piece below completely unprompted. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen. Enjoy!

PROGRAM INNOVATION SHOW BAGI PELAJAR-PELAJAR YANG MENDAFTAR KURSUS MGT 315 (BM111 5A, 5B & 5E)
FAKULTI PENGURUSAN PERNIAGAAN
UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MARA, PAHANG


1.  Tujuan

Memohon pertimbangan dan kelulusan daripada pihak Hal Ehwal Akademik (HEA) bagi menjalankan program yang dikhususkan kepada pelajar-pelajar Fakulti Pengurusan Perniagaan kumpulan 5A, 5B dan 5E yang mendaftar kursus MGT 315 Creative and Critical Thinking. Permohonan ini diperlukan bagi tujuan tempahan Balai Budaya pada tarikh yang dirancang iaitu 21 Mac 2013.

2.  Pengenalan

Para pelajar yang mendaftar subjek MGT315 perlu menyiapkan projek merekacipta produk inovasi bagi mengasah kemampuan mereka berfikir secara kreatif dan kritikal. Setiap kumpulan akan merekacipta produk yang mempunyai elemen kritikal dan kreativiti di dalamnya.

Barisan urusetia bagi program ini adalah seperti berikut:

3.  Objektif Program

a)      Mencabar kemampuan para pelajar untuk membentang hasil kerja produk inovasi mereka dengan lebih yakin.
b)      Membina keyakinan diri pelajar untuk berfikir secara kritikal dan kreatif melalui aktiviti pembentangan yang menggunakan panel penilai.
c)      Memupuk semangat kerja berkumpulan dan tolong-menolong di dalam proses pembelajaran.

MIni Innovation

GROUP PROJECT (30%) MINI INNOVATION PROJECT
1) A maximum of 3 - 4 persons in a group.
2) Students are not allowed to involve other students in their project (from different groups or other students not taking MGT 315 in the current semester).

3) Prepare both written report and presentation in English.

4) The followings are the report instructions:

4.1. Create a new/an innovative consumer product/service* or Improve existing consumer product/service by following these criteria:

4.1.1. Define the core benefits/services of the product that consumers seek.


For example, when you buy a Blackberry smartphone, you buy more than a handphone, e-mail device or personal organizer. You are buying freedom and on the go connectivity to people.


4.1.2. Product/service features.

Think of the features of Blackberry compared to other smartphones or Samsung TV compared to other televisions.

Dimensions, colour, shape, functions, etc.

For instance, a plasma television includes such features and benefits as:
Feature Functional Benefit
Screen size
Screen resolution
Surround sound
Remote control
Offers greater detail and allows for more distant viewing
Viewing provides clear, more realistic picture
Immerse all senses in the viewing experience
Allows for greater comfort while viewing
These features are called functional because they result in a benefit the user directly associates with the consumable product.

4.1.3. A brand name.

For example, our national car is branded as Proton, one of our local cakes & cafe chain is Secret Recipe ®, our airlines are Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia.

4.1.4. A slogan (defining it for use with customers in one short, memorable and motivating sentence). Examples

4.1.5. List down all the materials required to create the product. Include the photos.

4.1.6. Describe the steps of how the product is created. Include the photos.

4.1.7. State the operating cost to produce the product/service.

4.1.8. State the market price of the product or the service charge.

4.1.9. State the place or where the product will be sold or where the service will be located.

4.1.10. List the way/strategies on how you promote the product/service.

4.2. The maximum page for the report is 20 pages, inclusive of:

4.2.1. Table of content.

4.2.2. Main page-product criteria.

4.2.3. Related photos.

4.2.4. Conclusion.

4.2.5. Reference



Please apply APA format for reference
Check out http://www.landmark.edu/Library/citation_guides/apa.cfm if you are not sure. The lecturer wil explain more about this in the class.

4.3. Submit a page of summary about the product in class before or on the 12th weeks. The lecturers need to know your idea for the product in general.

4.4. The final written report must be submitted a day before your presentation date.

5) The followings are the presentation guidelines:

5.1. Prepare a presentation slides about your product/service in English.

5.2. The slides should content the product criteria.

5.3. The duration for presentation is 20-30 minutes icluding Q&A session.

5.4. The presentation attire is formal i.e. formal dress code.

5.5. The presentation will be evaluated based on

5.6. The presentation weeks will be in Week 12-Week 14.

6) Late submission of the report will NOT be accepted and graded.

7) Marks will be deducted for both report and presentation that fail to follow the above requirements.

8) Marks will also be deducted for plagiarized projects.

Perhatian - Kod ACC106 & ACC165

Pelajar yang budiman,
Sila ambil perhatian.

Sekali lagi saya mohon terutamanya kepada Penasihat Akademik untuk meluangkan sedikit masa menyemak melalui sistem (isis/sims) status semua pelajar di bawah jagaan masing-masing sama ada wujud diantara mereka yang masih belum mengambil kod-kod yang dinyatakan. Ini adalah amat penting kerana kod-kod tersebut ditawarkan pada semester pertama dan kedua yang mana seperti yang semua maklum tiada pengambilan pelajar baru mulai semester ini.

Oleh itu, kod-kod tersebut tidak lagi ditawarkan kecuali ada kes-kes mengulang dan belum mengambil. Inilah yang saya sedang cuba lakukan untuk mengenalpasti beramai ramai pelajar kita dari sem 3 dan ke atas yang masih belum ambil dan ulang kod-kod itu untuk dipersembahkan kepada KPP perkaunan agar kelas dapat dibuka pada semester hadapan.

1. Semua Kod ACC tidak akan ditawarkan pada intersesi akan datang. Fakulti Perakaunan tidak akan menyediakan pensyarah.

4.2. The maximum page for the report is 20 pages, inclusive of:

4.3. Submit a page of summary about the product in class before or on the 12th weeks. The lecturers need to know your idea for the product in general.

4.4. The final written report must be submitted a day before your presentation date.

5) The followings are the presentation guidelines:

5.1. Prepare a presentation slides about your product/service in English.

5.2. The slides should content the product criteria.

5.3. The duration for presentation is 20-30 minutes icluding Q&A session.

5.4. The presentation attire is formal i.e. formal dress code.

5.5. The presentation will be evaluated based on

6) Late submission of the report will NOT be accepted and graded.

7) Marks will be deducted for both report and presentation that fail to follow the above requirements.

8) Marks will also be deducted for plagiarized projects.

Pelajar yang budiman,
Sila ambil perhatian.

Sekali lagi saya mohon terutamanya kepada Penasihat Akademik untuk meluangkan sedikit masa menyemak melalui sistem (isis/sims) status semua pelajar di bawah jagaan masing-masing sama ada wujud diantara mereka yang masih belum mengambil kod-kod yang dinyatakan. Ini adalah amat penting kerana kod-kod tersebut ditawarkan pada semester pertama dan kedua yang mana seperti yang semua maklum tiada pengambilan pelajar baru mulai semester ini.

Oleh itu, kod-kod tersebut tidak lagi ditawarkan kecuali ada kes-kes mengulang dan belum mengambil. Inilah yang saya sedang cuba lakukan untuk mengenalpasti beramai ramai pelajar kita dari sem 3 dan ke atas yang masih belum ambil dan ulang kod-kod itu untuk dipersembahkan kepada KPP perkaunan agar kelas dapat dibuka pada semester hadapan.



Berikut adalah hasil mesyuarat pelarasan kod intersesi di Shah Alam semalam:

1. Semua Kod ACC tidak akan ditawarkan pada intersesi akan datang. Fakulti Perakaunan tidak akan menyediakan pensyarah.

2. Kod fakulti yang akan ditawarkan di Jengka ialah:

iv. FIN329/358 (kod finance tp bidang tak pasti)

3. Kod fakulti lain yang akan ditawarkan di Jengka setelah mendapat lampu hijau dari fakulti/bahagian terbabit:

ii. LAW299 Business Law

4. Kod lain yang akan ditawarkan tapi bukan di Jengka ialah:
i. ECO162 Microeconomics. Kampus yang buka: Melaka, Segamat dan Machang.
ii. ECO261 Malaysian Economics. Kampus yang buka: Machang, Merbok dan Melaka.

5. Mohon semua pensyarah untuk memaklumkan pelajar tentang perkara ini takut mereka terlepas pandang. Sistem akan dibuka untuk pendaftaran pada
