Board Games on Mahjong Paper - How to?

2. have fun while study.

Tengok gambar-gambar ini untuk faham apa yang awak boleh buat.

Buat macam mind map.

Sila bawa silotape/ pen marker sendiri.

Selamat mereka games!

Group Presentation - [BA 111 3A]

Attention.

I rearrange the sub-topic as I notice some has too little content for presentation. Besides, this presentation carry 5.0 marks (presentation 1: 2.5 marks and presentation 2: 2.5 marks). Even though you execute this in the group but your mark may vary from another as I evaluate your effort individually.

For this presentation, I hope you will prepare the mahjong paper better than the previous one. Put some effort to use your drawing skills to have various colours, draw related pictures (e.g. FB, Instagram, Twitter logo etc), arrow, cloud/circle or rectangle which related to IT/ system/ your topic.

Please think of something. Always sketch or design your ideas on A4 paper first then, you transfer/ draw in the mahjong. BE CREATIVE.

WARNING If you just write down all the information blindly without thinking about the design of your slide (in this case the Mahjong Paper). I know it was a last minute work.

Above picture was from my MGT162 students, can you see their effort? I know you can do better than this.

Even though you execute this in the group but your mark may vary from another as I evaluate your effort individually.

The rationale behind the rearrangement:

1. There are 5/6 members in the group that mean you have more resources (e.g. brain, energy, money, time, ideas).

2. This is your second-time seat for this paper so basically, this is just a revision for you.

We come to win the battle. [FINAL EXAM]

To win the battle we should know a strategy to win over it. Examination battle is only you and the question paper, so basically, we do not fight with others. But, it is very important to understand how the grading system used in UiTM.

Here, the above table summarizes the marks and also the grade. In order to win it is not enough to just pass, mean you score Grade C. But we aim to score A (A+, A or A-). Lets set our game plan.

Okay, here is how we calculate the mark.

Carry mark - 40
Final exam - 60

If you can recall some Maths here, it tells you that each (1) marks in carry mark carry 0.4. Meanwhile, each (1) marks in Final Exam carry 0.6.

It indicates that your final exam has more weight to determine your grade.

Okay, let's start with MGT 162 students, read carefully.

Student
Test 1 (50)
Test 2 (50)
Group Assignment (20)

-      Report (10)
-      Presentation (10)
Quizzes
 (10 + 10)

Example 1
40
32
Report: 7
Present: 6
Q1: 5
Q2: 4

2

3

Student
Test 1 (10%)
Test 2 (10%)
Group Assignment (15%)

-      Report (8%)
-      Presentation (7%)
Quizzes (5%)

Q1: 2.5%
Q2: 2.5%
Total (40%)
Example 1
(40/50)*10

= 8
(32/50)*10

= 6.4

Report: (7/10)*8 = 5.6

Present: (6/10)*7 = 4.2
Q1: (5/10)*2.5
= 1.25

Q2: (4/10)*2.5
= 1
(8 +6.4 + 5.6 + 4.2 + 1.25 + 1)

= 26.45
2

3

Okay, let's do some simulation.

Score
Mark

Carrymark
Final exam
Total
A
80 - 89

26.45
100 * 0.6 = 60

89 * 0.6 = 53.4

26.45 + 60 = 86.45

26.45 + 53.4 = 79.85 ~ 80

B
65 - 69

26.45
65 * 0.6 = 39
26.45 + 39 = 65.45

C
50 - 54

26.45
40 * 0.6 = 24
26.45 + 24 = 50.45

Student 1 score for carry mark is 26.45. If he/she wants to get an A, he/she must score at least 89 for final exam out of 100.

To pass this subject, he/she just needs to score 40 for the final exam. Then, he/she can manage to have an overall mark of 50.45, enough to get C. Even though you fail your final exam (passing mark for final is 50%) but luckily you have the carry mark to add up in your final score. You can see here, that the carry mark plays a very important role. We evaluate your performance for the whole semester.

Come on students, we do not want just pass (Grade C), we want A!

Do some exercise by assuming your score based on your current effort invest in this subject. It can help you to be more realistic as your goal is MEASURABLE. (Apply the goal setting theory here; SMART).

Remember the What - If analysis in DSS quantitative model? Here is how you can apply it. Assuming the carry mark is 26.25 so, you can strategize on how to score an A.

What if I score 80% for final?
What if I score 75% for final?
What if I score 50% for final?
